THURSDAY 15 SEPTEMBER 7.30p.m. : Shipwrecks off Dún Laoghaire, Dalkey and Blackrock. Speaker: Dr. Edward Bourke (author of books on the subject). Chair.: Dave Alvey.

THURSDAY 22 SEPTEMBER 7.30p.m. : Digging up the Raj. Speaker: Shabnam Vasisht author of the book “Digging up the Raj” has uncovered the stories of a wide range of Irish people who lived and worked in India during British rule -servicemen, civil servants and missionaries who aimed to convert sun-worshipping heathens to “muscular Christianity”. Her talk will be about some of these people. All of them are buried in Deansgrange Cemetery. Chair; Rosheen Callender.

THURSDAY 29 SEPTEMBER 7.30p.m. : Legendary Irish landscapes. A talk by artist and author Veronica Heywood.

THURSDAY 6 OCTOBER 7.30p.m. : “It’s time we grew up and abandoned Irish neutrality” A Debate. Speakers will include Senator Gerald Craughwell and Roger Cole of the Peace and Neutrality Alliance.

(who is actively campaigning for the pedestrianisation of Dun Laoghaire’s main street) and Conor Skehan (SUNDAY INDEPENDENT and former lecturer at DIT).
